GRANDMA’S ROUTE
Grandma’s Marathon is the 10th largest marathon in the USA. What started in 1977 as a single race has grown to a full weekend of running events hosted by the organization. The 5K, Half Marathon, and Full Marathon sell out every year.
5 km (3.1 miles) – Ideal for beginners, families, or shakeout runners, this short and scenic race delivers a fun and festive start to the weekend.
Half Marathon (13.1 miles) – A stunning lakeside course featuring gentle downhill stretches, cool breezes, and a memorable finish in Duluth.
Marathon (26.2 miles) – The point-to-point course runs along the scenic Route 61 along the North Shore of Lake Superior from Two Harbors to Duluth. The marathon course loses less than 100 feet of elevation. Iconic landmarks along the course include Lemon Drop Hill (mile 22), the Troll Mile (mile 22), Historic Fitger’s Brewing Company (mile 24), and SS William A. Irvin (mile 25.5). The race finishes in Canal Park near Grandma’s Restaurant and the highly visible Aerial Lift Bridge.

I've had the incredible opportunity to travel with Sports Tours International to Berlin, Disney, Grandma's, and even Kiwah Island! Every single trip has been nothing short of amazing. From start to finish, it's a full experience, not just a race. The events are so fun,the shakeout runs are energizing, and the parties and team vibe are next-level. The team goes above and beyond to make sure every detail is taken care of, so all you have to do is show up and enjoy the ride (and the run!).

This was my third trip with Sports Tours International and each experience one was top-notch! The accommodations are always excellent and the support staff does an unbelievable job to assist with anything needed during your stay. Between the hotel, the race itself and the excursions, Sports Tours offers the perfect trifecta. And of course, the amazing post-race after party makes the experience complete!

Traveled with Sports Tours for the Berlin Marathon. I was so pleased with the coordination and elimination about the worry about getting a lottery bib that we are now signed up for London with the Scotland extension. It's a little pricey but worth the investment. Top notch hotel centrally located with a great breakfast, great pre-race review and pleasant overall experience.
